The Strathcona Regional District, the City of Campbell River, and the Regional District of Mount Waddington partnered to develop a labour market study with a focus on healthcare, aquaculture. Tourism and forestry sectors.

The objectives of the study included:

• To better understand the current and future regional labour market
• To update existing data and forecast future employment needs
• To develop strategies and an action plan to address regional labour market challenges
• To improve recruitment and retention in the North Island
