About
Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations (KCFN) are located on the Pacific west coast of Vancouver Island. Their territory extends from Porritt Creek, north of Nootka Sound, to Solander Island at the tip of Brooks Peninsula, stretching inland to the height of land and seaward to the horizon—the point at which land is no longer visible from a canoe.
The two Nations came together in the early 1960s. Today, they are the northernmost of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations and occupy approximately 300 acres along Vancouver Island’s rugged Pacific coast.
