This Sunday, communities across Canada will recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day—a time to celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. Held near the summer solstice, it is a meaningful time for many Indigenous communities.

The SRD encourages residents to learn more about events taking place throughout the region. In Campbell River, activities for the whole family are planned throughout the day on Sunday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm offering opportunities to learn, celebrate, and reflect on reconciliation.
