
Notice of Application For Scrutineers - Bylaw No. 643 (Strathcona Gardens Recreation Facility Service)
On Saturday, October 17, 2026 an assent voting opportunity will be held within:
- City of Campbell River
- Electoral Area D (Oyster Bay-Buttle Lake)
- That part of Electoral Area C known as Quadra Island
The Question:
Are you in favour of Bylaw No. 643 which would amend the Strathcona Gardens recreation facility service by adding that part of Electoral Area ‘C’ (Quadra Island) shown on Appendix ‘A’ to the bylaw as a participant for the service and specifying a cost sharing formula that uses a percentage of the converted hospital assessments of each participant as follows:
- City of Campbell River – 100% Electoral
- Area D (Oyster Bay-Buttle Lake) – 90%
- That part of Electoral Area C known as Quadra Island – 80%
Applications are being accepted from eligible electors who wish to volunteer to act as a scrutineer for or against the question.
If sufficient applications are received, one scrutineer for and one scrutineer against the question will be appointed for each voting place. One scrutineer for the question and one scrutineer against the question will also be appointed to be present at the determination of the official results and, if necessary, at a judicial recount.
Applications to act as a scrutineer will be received by the Chief Election Officer as follows:

From 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026
