Swim Lessons: We are excited to welcome our community to the new aquatic facility in late October. We are using the first several months of operation to establish strong systems, support our staff through the transition, and ensure that when swim lessons begin, they are organized, safe, and set up for success. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this important transition. We are incredibly excited about what the new facility will offer our community and we look forward to offering swim lessons again in January 2027.

Fall Swim Lessons

Notice level: Low
Updated:

We are excited to welcome our community to the new aquatic facility in late October. While the pool will be open for public use, swim lessons will not begin until January. This is a planned and intentional approach that will allow our Aquatics team the time needed to safely transition into the new facility and ensure we are providing the high-quality programs and service our patrons expect.

By waiting until January, we can use the first several months of operation to establish strong systems, support our staff through the transition, and ensure that when swim lessons begin, they are organized, safe, and set up for success. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this important transition. We are incredibly excited about what the new facility will offer our community and look forward to welcoming swimmers back to lessons in January.

The Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life® Program offers a comprehensive learn-to-swim program from Parent & Tot to Leadership, endorsed by international lifesaving organizations. These programs teach essential water safety, swimming skills, and lead seamlessly into lifesaving training awards

Registration Tips:

Make sure you read the swim level descriptions below of each level before you register! If you are unsure what level your child is in, please have a lifeguard do a quick assessment of your child during one of our public swims. The Lifesaving Society BC also has transition charts and swim level descriptions.

  1. Plan ahead! We ask all parents & caregivers to make sure their children can attend the lessons they are registered for to avoid cancellation fees.
  2. Register your child in one course per session. If you aren’t sure what level they should be in, please ask our front desk for assistance.
  3. Always check with your swim instructor or follow the recommendations in your child’s progress report before registering for the next level.
  4. Set your child up for success and don’t register for the next level until they have passed the current level they are in.
