The Strathcona Regional District (SRD), together with our project partners, donors and community supporters, officially celebrated the opening of the Just Like Home Lodge and Health Professionals Housing in Campbell River this week.
Located next to the Campbell River Hospital, these two unique local government initiatives are helping remove barriers to healthcare across our region:
- Just Like Home Lodge provides a welcoming home away from home for patients and caregivers who must travel to Campbell River for medical care.
- Health Professionals Housing provides flexible short- and long-term accommodation for healthcare professionals working, training or relocating to the region — supporting recruitment and retention.
This project was made possible through incredible partnership and community support, including the Campbell River Hospital Foundation and its generous donors, Seymour Pacific Homes, and the many organizations and individuals who helped bring this vision to life.
