CONTEST DESCRIPTION & RULES

Create a piece of art inspired by where you live – let your imagination run wild!

As part of the Area C Official Community Plan project, the SRD is accepting submissions of drawings and photographs provided by children and youth who live in Area C. What do you love about your community? Show us with your own artistic creation!

6 prizes based on each age category are up for grabs! Prizes of $50 value will be awarded to winners who enter their one-of-a-kind masterpiece in any of the following categories:

  • Drawing Category
    •  Ages 7 and under
    •  Ages 8 to 12
    •  Ages 13 to 18
  •  Photography Category
    • Ages 7 and under
    •  Ages 8 to 12
    • Ages 13 to 18

HOW TO ENTER

Step 1:
Drawing category – please take a plain sheet of paper or download the template HERE>.
Photography cateogory – capture your masterpiece by camera or phone.

Step 2:
Think about what you love about your community and get inspired.

Step 3:
Create your masterpiece.

Step 4:
Once you complete your artwork, – you can:

  • Submit a photo of the artwork, or
  • Use a scanner and scan the artwork

Step 5:
Submit your masterpiece & provide your name, age, artwork title, and where your home community is.

  • Mail – Strathcona Regional District, Community Services Department, 990 Cedar St. , Campbell River, BC V9W 7Z8

Step 6:
Agree to the terms and rules below.

  • All art submissions for the contest must be received by the closing deadline.
  • If you send your entries in the mail, we can’t return the originals. Please make sure they are postmarked before the contest deadline.
  • All artworks must be original and unique, created by the artist.
  • When submitting your scanned or digital artwork online, please make sure it is a pdf, jpg, or png file.
  • Open to residents of Area C only.
  • Entries may be featured on SRD social media channels, on the SRD website, or other materials, with artist credit.
